THE DAY AFTER...... DEEPAWALI

The much awaited Deepawali is gone. Deep into the night, I could hear the noise of the crackers. Perhaps it was three O'clock I could get some sleep. I was up by 5:30 AM, half an hour late. The clouds gone, the sky was clear and Sun basked in his own morning warmth. As expected the roads were littered with burnt paper, rolls and mud pots of crackers etc. The Safaiwala came and did her duties. She cleaned entire colony by 9 AM. We are the luckiest one to have a devoted Safaiwala. I have never seen such a devoted person to her work ever. I am really proud that she is OUR safaiwala. With the help of ubiquitous Jain sahab, cleaned all around our complex. He is another devoted person to cleanliness. Thank God, it is for these persons our complex looks really tidy. By 9:30 we did not feel we had a festival and its aftermath clumsiness. Evening came and the complex gathered to celebrate Goverdhan Pooja. They made clay Goverdhan, moutains, the subjects and son on. It was wonderful community festival, which I only recently started enjoying and participated, although I have heard about it for such a long time. and by the night, once again it was crackers time. The light, noise and smoke was too much. some how, it was triple to what was actually seen on Deepawali night. And the roads and surroundings were all littered with burnt papers and all that you get with crackers. unfortunately our Safaiwala will not come today. we have to bear with the litter that we created. it reminds me of the Wall E of the movie Wall E. Very Sad, we should have been more careful. but burning crackers also give EMPLOYEMENT!!!!
